Stand up for neighbors.
Stand up for Minnesota.

We are a diverse coalition of community organizations, faith groups, labor unions, educators, businesses and local elected officials.

We come from many perspectives, but are committed to working together to strengthen and support our community during a very difficult time in Minnesota’s history.

We are deeply troubled by actions of armed federal agents in the Twin Cities and across the state that are causing fear, distrust, injury and loss of life, economic disruption, and unbearable stress on local and state government and law enforcement, with little to no accountability.

We recognize that the only way through this crisis is together. Our principles as a coalition include:

We are part of a beautiful and diverse community, and will work to ensure that all of our neighbors feel safe and supported

The Constitution of the United States and rule of law must be upheld in order to protect the life and liberty of all people living in Minnesota

We call for an immediate end to Operation Metro Surge and expanded Homeland Security operations across Minnesota, and for full and transparent investigations of killings and human rights violations by federal agents

UPCOMING EVENTS FROM COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Show Up for Duluth: City Council Meeting — Monday 2/23

Northland Together gathered as a coalition from many different perspectives, knowing the only way forward is together.

As a group, we want to start by naming something important: safety and the ability for all to participate in civil dialogue is imperative.

Our country and community are all grappling with big and challenging questions in response to a federal administration that is operating with violent and hateful intent.

We also want to plainly state that there are three separate items on the agenda to learn more about:

1. A city ordinance clarifying that city employees, including police, will not engage in civil immigration enforcement.

2. A resolution urging the state to expand emergency financial assistance.

3. A similar resolution as #2 that includes a request for an eviction moratorium.

Join us in a spirit of respectful civic engagement, learning and care while our local democracy navigates these unprecedented times.

Invitation

We invite you and the organizations or businesses you are part of to join us in a broad coalition of Northlanders speaking up as one voice for what is right.

We don’t need a new organization to replicate or diminish what is already being done.

Rather, we want to amplify all of that good work that is happening and to fill some important gaps in our work by creating space for broad based mobilization and information sharing.

Organizations

Sign on as an official Coalition endorser. Open to organizations, businesses, schools, community groups, bands, and elected or appointed officials.
